Strand 1 - Career Focus
Whilst we mainly offer BUILD UP participants the Career Focus sessions under the Strand 1 banner we will also be offering ‘ad hoc’ sessions to participants, we will regularly update our news pages when these sessions are planned.
Recommended as an introduction to the Build Up programme, the one day (10.30am to 5pm) Career Focus workshops offer participants the opportunity to:
- build networks with other professionals (virtual and physical)
- identify individual development needs and career path options
- create individual professional development plans
- access a range of information and learning/development resources
Facilitated by career development professionals from the University of Westminster, these interactive workshops allow participants to network with fellow professionals with a wide range of experience within the built environment.
A relaxed, comfortable setting provides a perfect opportunity to build contacts, exchange information and share ideas whilst gaining access to a multitude of sector-specific information and development resources.
The workshops also afford participants the chance to develop effective external networking strategies and to discuss and identify the most important aspects of career planning and skills development.
