Build Up Event
Build Up hosted an event at the end of June entitled ‘Value to the Client: How can building design and construction teams give best value to clients in terms of cost and performance?.
This was an evening of presentations and discussions involving Build Up participants and speakers from Experian and Urban Design London. The discussions centred around the current and future state of the economy and how innovation and collaboration could offer more value to clients.
The event was well attended by Built Environment professionals, businesses, professional bodies and government agencies. Professor Jim Coleman from Regeneris Consulting was MC on the night.

Head of UK Construction Forecasting at Experian, James Hastings provided some interesting economic analysis of the road to recovery for the sector. Director at Urban Design London, Esther Kurland addressed many of the different aspects of contemporary street design within the UK, outlining in particular some of the most important practical steps to better streets.
Participants also presented their perspectives on the challenges that they have faced and how the Build Up programme has assisted them. Report findings from participants on some of Build Up programme’s live collaborative projects were also summarised at the event, including the Borough High Street, Retrofitting Soho and London Bridge Viaducts projects.
