Build Up - Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

1. FREE places are available on the University of Westminster’s Build Up programme under the Higher Education Funding Council for England Economic Challenge Investment Fund (ECIF) initiative for sector re-skilling.

2. To be eligible for these free places, at the time of booking you must be a full-time resident in the United Kingdom and a built environment professional who is either:

currently unemployed
formally under notice of redundancy
on reduced time working arrangements with your present employer due to the current economic downturn
working outside their professional field due to the economic downturn
able to demonstrate that your current business is seriously under threat due to the current recession.

Attendees may be asked to provide proof of their current status in relation to employment.

3. Participants are required to have at least one years’ professional experience in their field.

4. If an individual’s personal circumstances change between the time of booking the course and their attendance, making them no longer eligible (according to the conditions outlined in point 2.), then they must notify the University of Westminster’s Build Up programme administration.

5. The Build Up Programme will end on 30th September 2010.

6. Up to 1500 places are available on individual courses, with a maximum entitlement of any two courses from Strand 2 plus one project from Strand 3 OR three courses from Strand 2 in addition to the Careers Focus workshops. Participants may attend only one Strand 3 project.

7. Participants will be expected to cover their own travel costs and associated subsistence.

8. Places on the Build Up programme are subject to availability and are offered on a first come, first served basis.

9. The University of Westminster reserves the right to charge when a confirmed booking is cancelled less than five working days before the course commences.

10. The University of Westminster reserves the right to change the date(s) of the courses when necessary.

11. Please note that each course is dependent upon a minimum number of participants, and may be cancelled if under-subscribed.

12. The University reserves the right to amend published information.
